Lab Testing, Certification & Compliance
Ensuring TPE meets all critical requirements.
At United Soft Plastics, material performance isn’t just promised — it’s proven. Our in-house testing lab and external certification partnerships ensure that every compound we manufacture meets the mechanical, chemical, and regulatory benchmarks your industry demands.
From automotive durability to medical-grade biocompatibility, we verify that our thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) meet or exceed performance requirements — before they reach your production line.
In-House Lab Capabilities
We operate a fully equipped laboratory for TPE compound testing and development. This allows us to provide real-time quality control, rapid prototyping, and material validation. Core lab services include:
-
Hardness (Shore A & D) – Durometer testing for consistent softness and flexibility.
-
Tensile Testing – Validation of strength and stretch performance.
-
Compression Set – Measures material recovery after deformation using a fixed weight at a specified temperature.
-
Melt Flow Index (MFI) – Gives an indication of a polymer's flow characteristics at a single point of shear
-
Rheology - Performs viscosity measurements under applied forces with varying amounts of shear.
-
Density – Ensures uniform weight of the material across batches.
-
Color Matching & Visual QA – Custom coloration and surface inspection.
-
Heat Aging – Perform a variety of testing using heat aged test specimens
-
Adhesion Testing – For materials intended to over mold onto a substrate
Need a custom formulation validated to specific parameters? Our lab can simulate application conditions and run comparative tests on prototype parts.
